Working responsibly is one of our core values. As well as being the right thing to do, it also makes good business sense. The cost-effective sustainable solutions we provide help our clients meet their goals, assist in driving innovation and support our aspiration to be the sustainable contractor and employer of choice.
Committed to continuous improvement, we have seen significant progress in the period covered by this report. Our teams have recorded some great successes and we have developed the tools and training needed to meet the demanding targets we set ourselves.
Looking ahead, our targets, which stretch until 2019, include procuring only responsibly sourced key materials, up-skilling all of our strategic supply chain and increasing native biodiversity.
Our BIM Centre for Excellence continues to ensure we design and construct buildings with lower embodied carbon and less waste, and we now have a team trained to conduct embodied impact assessments in the virtual environment.
We continue to demonstrate industry leadership, recently commissioning a series of assessments in areas such as Placemaking and the impact on natural capital of decision making. The outcome of these studies will help drive progress within the sector and influence how we and others operate in the future.
